AREAS OF BUSINESS: Corporate incentive travel, receptive tour operator services, conference/meeting organization.
AREA OF WORK: Assistant Coordinator, operations department, sales and marketing, administration
OBJECTIVES: To integrate a student into the operations department to assist with coordination of conferences, and incentive travel. The student will develop knowledge about the various products and services offered by JPdL Montrιal, Toronto or Ottawa.
Overview of tasks:
Contact suppliers;
Research information for programs, budgets and various logistic requirements;
Making reservations with suppliers;
Follow-up with clients and suppliers;
Offer coordination support to Project Manager;
Preparation of project materials;
Assistance to on-site staff, provision of supplies;
Administrative/clerical work associated with project coordination;
Act as a greeter and/or accompany client groups on-site.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
Education in tourism, business or any other related field which offers a student an understanding and/or overview of the tourism and PCO industries;
Excellent spoken and written skills in English and French for Montreal and Ottawa;
Excellent spoken and written skills in English for Toronto;
All other languages considered an asset.
Note: a minimum stay of six months is required at all locations.
Education: Applicants must have completed two years of study, and have very strong communication and computer skills. The ideal candidate will be motivated, efficient and be detail oriented.
Submission Criteria: Please submit a short written text (approx. 10 lines) describing a work situation where you demonstrated initiative.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work under pressure, with short deadlines and be flexible is essential;
Ability to adapt to ever changing situations and dynamic.
AVAILABILITY: We accept requests all year long. The internship duration is minimum 6 months for a student from Europe, and minimum 4 months for a local student.
COMPENSATION: $100 per week.
