Candidate Profile:

We are seeking a creative and practical thinker who can support the event management team in conceptualizing and executing imaginative and exciting events of many different kinds (conference programs, tours, excursions, galas, décor, entertainment and leisure activities). Candidates must be flexible, must be able to meet deadlines with little supervision, and be willing to work evenings and weekends when required. Experience in sales will be considered an asset.


Experience and Qualifications:

  • At minimum three (3) years of experience in the hospitality industry or in project management (administration, event coordination/management, process planning)
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Access)
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work with minimal supervision
  • Proficient writing and editing skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Positive and reliable
  • Experience coordinating transportation or tours considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with Ottawa venues and local attractions
  • Bilingual in French and English (preferred)


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key vendors and venues;
  • Strong knowledge of local venues and venue offerings;
  • Organize and execute client site visits as required;
  • Issuing invoices and collecting payments in a timely manner;
  • Close out files and create financial reports;
  • Supporting events on the day of, including but not limited to welcoming guests, supporting event; set-up, communicating with venue staff, organizing vendors and overseeing take-down;
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to creatively present ideas and concepts;
  • Taking site notes and managing meeting minutes.


Post-secondary education;
Diploma / Certificate in Event Management preferred.
