Imagine a street hockey tournament that stretches across Canada, and you begin to get an idea of the scope of Hockey Night in Canada’s Play On! Program. The largest street hockey festival in the country operating in 15 cities, Play On! has showcased over one million participants to date, with male and female players across all skill levels and ages. Each event involves 20 to 50 separate “street rinks” with games running simultaneously throughout one hockey-packed, exciting weekend!
For the 3rd consecutive year, JPdL was in on the action of this one-of-a-kind event. Montréal’s 2013 tournament unfolded during Victoria Day weekend, and for the first time ever, it was held at the Esplanade Financière Sun Life venue of the City’s stunning Olympic Stadium. The event welcomed a total of 110 teams, 25 volunteers and big-name sponsors like Esplanade Financière Sun Life, Booster Juice, UPS, KPMG, Subway, and Double Pizza, all of whom helped make 2013 the most exciting Play On! edition yet.
